Weight Loss Inspiration from the Bible

I'm going to be working on using my faith to help me lose weight.  I'm learning I can not do it under my own steam.  This is my verse for the day.

http://bible.us/1Cor6.19.NIV 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Another that I keep running through my head is:

I need to be more prayerful and mindful of what I am doing with my body and IN my body.  Am I honoring God through my physical life?

Thoughts??

  1. I'm struggling like you, but I recently had this SAME conversation with another friend. The conversation about admitting that I am out of control. In OA (Overeaters Anonymous, that is the first of the 12 steps to recovery. Instead of sobriety, they call it "abstinence." Abstinence from over eating ... Today, I am three days abstinent. I WAS six days BUT I fell off the wagon Sunday night out of boredom and for eating too many lunch calories left me vulnerable and too hungry at night. It was a bad choice and I will do better. However, all in all, I am really doing pretty well with it as long as I do what you suggested - put it into stronger hands. I am with you ... right there beside you, Sis. LOVE YOU!!
